I love to swim. My mom taught us to swim before we could even walk. I love it, but I do not like to swim in our house. We had a valve start spewing hot water all over the laundry room. Water covered the tile and was seeping through the wall into the kitchen. It was a disaster. When we turned off the water valve, it would not turn all the way off. The deluge kept coming, but fortunately at a slower rate. We finally fixed the valve about 2945.12 gallons later. For the next week or so we will have the fan running 24-7 to try and prevent dry rot, but I am afraid that may be a futile endeavor. Swimming is fun. Swimming in your house is not fun.

Yikes! I wish I had some sage advice but we only had rain and snow leaking through our roof, not an insane leak. Sounds like you're doing the best you can under the circumstances. So much for trying to stay warm and dry this winter.
You better just move. Your house is going to smell like mildew until the end of time. Eventually, you will too. Hopefully, your landlord will understand...
Wow that is awful! Has your landlord done anything to help? Fixing that should have been their responsibility, as well as any damage that occured from the water until the valve was fixed. And I hope that you took the opportunity to practice treading water and teach all the pets (including Jack) how to swim as well. :)
Aren't you glad you had all those swim lessons? Next to your fire extinguisher you should now keep a life jacket!
