To Austin No More

It looks like my parents are NOT going to be moving to Austin after all. Dell just got a new VP over accounting, and my dad's position is now not very secure. Plus, they are not having hime do what they said that he was going to be doing. He is going to probably keep working at Dell until around Christmas (he wants to be able to still have a good reference from them). The good thing is that his old work offered him his job back with a raise. Dad is going to look around a little bit before he takes it though. Mel and I are a little sad. With Jim and Julie and my parents all living in Austin, it was really easy to earmark Austin as the number one desitnation point for us after college. We are still thinking Texas, but now which city to live in is up in the air.

I'm a huge Austin fan. My family is still in Dallas, but other than family, Dallas doesn't have anything on Austin. Plus it's only a three hour drive. We are alwasy talking about moving there as well. That's my two cents!

Austin is way way better than Houston... of course if it was up to me I wouldn't live anywhere in Texas :) Of course, I will probably live and die here... :)

I love Austin, but Houston has a bigger job market. If we can snag a job in Austin, then that would be great. Yesterday we were looking at homes in Houston, and found an amazing one: 1700 sq feet. 4 bedroom. 2 bath. Built in 2000. $105,000. I wish that we could have bid on that home!

Julie, I love Texas! I would rather live in Texas than just about any other state.
