On Saturday, I successfully ran my first marathon. It took me 05:33:30.9 to finish. I came in 1434 place. For just the men I came in at 802 place. I finished +03:16:27.7 after the fastest person. Sunday I was in the most pain ever. It still hurts to breathe at times, but today Melissa and I started training for next year's marathon. Melissa decided that she is going to do it. Our only goal is to cross the line. Today we started out by walking 1.5 miles. That was for me. Melissa can run it, but I am so sore that I can barely walk. I would like to offer a challenge out to anyone who has ever thought about doing a marathon. Start training with us! If you start now, then you will have a whole year to train. For this week we are walking 1.5 miles on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. On Saturday we will walk 3 miles. Everyone can walk. That is how our training starts. Get up and go for a walk. If a marathon scares you, then get up and set a goal to run a half-marathon, or a 10K, 5K, or even a 3K. Make a goal for yourself. Get up and get excercising. You will feel better about yourself. You will be healthier. Health insurance is so expensive. If you are willing to dish out money for that, why not dish out a little bit of your time so that you can live a little longer and feel better about yourself. If anyone feels willing to set up a goal to run, bike, swim, etc for a race next year, then leave a comment so that everyone can cheer you on!
P.S. Thank you everyone for all of your encouragement! I really appreciated it!

HUGE congrats, Jared!! I can't even imagine doing a marathon at this point but the idea of it is very attractive.
I hope you got a lot of pictures - did you have a lot of people on the sides cheering you on?
What a great thing to actually meet the goal you've been aiming for for so long :) I really admire your dedication and hope the sore legs don't last too much longer!
