Baby Oehring---Week 15

Here's an update on our baby. I am gonna try and put one up every week as the baby grows!

The body is now growing faster than the head, balancing out that brain-heavy look and making the fetus appear more baby-like. The skin is covered with lanugo, an ultrafine hair that protects it until birth. There's also hair on the baby's head, and the beginnings of tiny eyebrows. Your little one is now about 4 inches long and weighs just under 2 ounces.

Neat update! And an amazing picture of a baby.... imaging these days is impressive. We never got a "3-D" ultrasound of our babies. Speaking of... when is your ultrasound scheduled for again? I can't wait....

I'm just starting to be able to feel mine at week 15! I didn't think you could feel them this early but have been pleasantly surprised by it's little flutterings. Have you felt anything yet? They say with first timers you don't quite know what you are supposed to feel so don't recognize it very well but try and really pay attention and you'll be feeling stuff soon!

They say the baby at this stage is the size of your fist. I've been making fists and smiling all week long. Pretty exciting stuff! I can't believe you are training for a marathon. I'm marathon eating at this stage. Way to go!

The picture is just generic, but there is a 3-d ultrasound place at the mall. I never thought about doing that because I assumed it was too expensive, but we should look into it.

The 3-D are definitely neat. We passed for both of our kids because with Seth it was around $300 dollars (6 years ago) and with Logan I believe the our doctors office offered it for an extra $100. Maybe prices are better near you. It would be cool to have done. I just can't wait the few weeks until your regular ultrasound!
