Side Effect of Motherhood?!

First, thanks for the comments--it's good to know people do check the website--keeps me inspired to write more.

Okay, so everyone out there, you need to let me know if losing my mind is a side effect of motherhood or if it's just me going crazy. Let me give you the latest example:

Background--Jared and I have a room that stays very hot. So, we have a ceiling fan and a box fan in the window. We also have a t.v. and dvd player in our bedroom.

Story--last night Jared fell asleep before me. We were watching Pirates of the Carribean 2. I got up and turned our ceiling fan to medium (instead of high) and debated turning off the window fan but it was still rather warm. I went back to bed and dozed off into a dreamless sleep....zzzzz......next thing I know, Lindsey is fussing (appx. 1 am) and Jared is up to change her. He says to me (a little annoyed) "Melissa-you CAN'T turn all the fans off!" I wake up enough to recount that I did NOT turn the fans off--I specifically remember leaving them on, but the fans really are off. I am positive I did not turn them off! Then Jared asks if I changed movies b/c there's a different dvd in the dvd player. Again, my answer is a hesitant 'no'. I DO have the vague feeling that I've already been up tonight even though this is the first time Lindsey woke up. hmm....So, the only conclusion I have is that I've started sleep walking.

So, let me know--is this normal?? or am I just losing my mind?? :-) it was a weird night to say the least. And of course, here's another cute pic of our daughter.

I think it's a side effect of Pirates! Yeah, blame the Pirates...it might work. Anyway, people who are sleep deprived have lots of excuses b/c you really have lost your mind somewhat when you've lost so much sleep. Sleepwalking could also explain it. Some people take the wrong meds or eat in the middle of the night without knowing it.
Hmm, you could also turn the tables and just tell Jared you think it was him :)

Weird things happen when you wake up in the middle of the night. With my first baby when I was up 4 to 5 times a night I seriously thought I was going crazy. I'd wake up, see that it was 1:30 then go back to sleep. Then I'd wake up again and clock would say 12:15. I seriously considered buying a timeclock so I could punch in every time I woke up to prove I wasn't loosing my mind.

No, you're not crazy! Just a mom which I think is actually a euphemism for "insane." ;-)

Oh yeah... you completely lose track of real time and forget lots of things that you did/happened just from being up a lot at night! :) Another cute pic!
