Huntsville State Park

Last weekend saw another outing to Huntsville State Park-about an hour north of here. It's more foresty than Brazos Bend, and we took our new backpack and ourselves and our dog on a 6.9 mile hike. It was shady in the forest and fun to listen to the sounds of nature and have some time away from the world and together as a family. Here's a few pics:

Me and Baby By the Lake Where We Stopped to Eat:

One Tired Dog (in the only shade here where we stopped for lunch-of course the bench was at the only spot on the whole hike where there was no shade!)

This looks like fun! I can't believe Maverick came! Did you guys have to carry him at all (they do have doggy backpacks/bags)

6.9 miles is pretty ambitious. (What would it be like to be young again?) Looks like fun (although the dog doesn't look exactly thrilled). And everybody in the family looks good!
