I trained for and ran my first ever 5k (3.1miles), the Shamrock Shuffle, the weekend of my birthday in Austin with my wonderful sister, Julie! It was a blast! We didn't time ourselves or get timed, but overheard a guy who came in after us say his time was 30 minutes, someodd seconds, so we must've done under 30 minutes which is great for me! and good for Julie (even though she could probably do faster!) It was so fun to run together and finish together-except the last 1/2 mile was uphill-and i have no hills here to run on so it was hard! Next up: a 10k or a triathlon! when: sometime this year (?)

Wow! Thanks for posting those cute pics of us! That was a ton of fun!!! Jim is going to download the little video clips today so that I can add them to the workout blog too.
Now, we need to start looking for a 10k in your part of the state! When do you think would be a good time?
Congrats on completing your first 5k! I can hardly make it up the stairs without breathing hard so I'm truly impressed!
CONGRATULATIONS! A really neat accomplishment.
Great job you two! Joel and I kind of fizzled out on that running thing. Too much sickness the past few months. Or at least that's the excuse we're using. :) Congrats on completing the race and meeting your goals!
