Tonight we carved our pumpkin for the season! It was fun-although Jared remarked not nearly as exciting as he remembered it being when he was little.
Lindsey saying "cheese" while admiring the pumpkin.
Daddy and L cutting the lid off.
Scooping out the guts. Lindsey willingly put her hand in when we told her to but quickly retracted it when she felt the inside. After that, she just said "no" to any prodding to reach in and grab pumpkin guts.
Carving the face. What's a pumpkin without a little decoration?
The final product-and a happy family!

That is the cutest sequence of shots! Lindsey seems to be learning all about it and taking it seriously.
Man, Lindsay reminds me a lot of Lizzie. I think there is definitely some family resemblance.
And to build on Alisa's comment, I think there might be some family resemblance to the jack-o-lantern, too!
(And as for thinking it was more fun when we were little, that might be because someone else was responsible for doing the scooping and cleaning, while we could focus on just being creative.)
(And to clarify my previous comment, I was thinking that the family resemblance might be to distant relations, and not to anyone who might be reading this blog.)
