Well, yesterday was my first payday at Stewart & Stevenson, and I can honestly say that being done with school is much more fun than being in school. I like payday after graduation. There may be more bills to pay, but it is still more fun to be on salary than to be making minimum wage.
Right now at S&S I am working on a big machine called the Rail King. It is part truck and part train locomotive. It can pull train cars on the rail like a locomotive, and then it has great big truck wheels that come down. Then you can drive off of the rail like a truck. This is very helpful to get off of one section of a track and then jump onto another one while you are moving train cars around a switching station.

That is a beautiful picture! What an amazing machine. And getting a paycheck to work on it is the best for you engineers, no?! Congratulations and enjoy the hard-won fruits of your labors.

Right now I am working on the pneumatics system and learning a lot. I guess studying didn't end with the degree.
Well, but getting paid to study is a heck of a lot better than paying to study, no? :) Good luck on the new job!! Can't wait to see you guys!!
