ahhh..baby's asleep-hubby's on a run-time for a relaxing bath-burn off some stress! So, we've got two tubs-L's and our's. However, our's doesn't have a plug for the tub, so I go to L's for baths. Rejected--I forgot we were cleaning some stuff in there today and it's coated with grime and junk-ick. Not what I want to clean tonight. So, I decide a relaxing hot shower is the next choice and I wander into our bathroom. UGH--a dead cockroach on its back is in the middle of our tub. DILEMMA: which do I want to clean less? The small icky cockroach or the grimy tub??? Well, I ponder for a couple minutes, and take another look at each tub. The grime isn't TOO bad and with a quick sweep of a damp towel will clean it out right? and the cockroach--I take a closer look and its legs are still twitching (gag) so I choose to clean the grime. HOWEVER, being the weird softie I am, I take a good handful of toilet paper and sufficiently squish the mostly dead cockroach and leave it for J.
aahhh....relaxing bath at last....in a freshly cleaned tub (and dead bug in the other room).
(Disclaimer--NEITHER pic is of our actual tub!)
WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE???

Ew! Another reason I only wish to visit Texas rather than live there, sorry! Of course we have our fair share of spiders and mice...so what can I say? I would have chosen the grime as well!
I agree. I would've done the same thing! I hope you enjoyed your soak! :-)
I might have opted for a nice blanket and comfy chair in by the TV instead. Neither tub option appealed to me.
i love this blog! i despise cockroaches- i'd go for the grimy in a heart-beat. so fun to be in touch- your baby girl is getting so big! seeing her all decked out makes me so excited to see mine! hope all is well.
Having grown up in Florida, I would have found it easy to grab the roach and flush it, espcially if it was already mostly still. But you're new to Houston and you're just getting used to the drill when the roaches are around. After another summer you'll go into attack-and-remove mode practically as a reflex! But it's a real test of the marriage if you really left the squashed bug for your hub...did you really?!
