Here's the first California Vacation post. Lindsey, Justin, and I flew out to visit my parents (and both my sisters were there) for 2.5 weeks! It was the most heavenly vacation I've had in a long time! California is beautiful-I fell in love with the weather and the land! And, of course, seeing my parents and sisters-it was wonderful! Thank you, Mom and Dad, for making it possible! This day, on Coronado Island, was one of the most perfect! My sisters and the kids started by renting and riding a double surry down part of the Silver Strand, stopped at a park during the 2hr ride, then had lunch down where the ferry runs between the island (which isn't an island actually) and San Diego. To end it, we went to the Cupcakery and got the most delicious cupcakes! It was beautiful, the kids were wonderful, I couldn't have asked for a better day!
I forgot Justin's jacket (it was quite cool) so he's wearing his 5 yr old cousin's shirt, and of course a (too large) helmet for safety on the surry!
Waving hello.
All settled in for a nice ride! This thing had 4 sets of pedals and the little seat in the front for kids.
Nice bunny ears, Justin!
Let's ride!
The Big Bay.
Oh so fun to run, run, run!
Taking a peak at the beautiful water.
Looking through the scope (non paid-for so you can't see anything)
Seth and Logan (cousins) climbed over the rocks to the beach.
On the island with San Diego behind us.
Chasing the pigeons!
Looking out over the water.
Mmmmm....the best cupake store ever! I had a mint chocolate chip cupcake with choclate frosting!
Laurie's giant cream-filled cupcake.
Lindsey, of course, ate the frosting and left the rest :)
Justin was less dainty-I gave him the bottom of my cupcake and it took him about 5 seconds to devour it. See the face-stuffing below!

I love the cupcake warning; I think anything sweet should come with a similar warning. Looks like a lovely vacation - so much green and blue! We've got blue here but it's just the sky. Could use some more green, however. *sigh* I miss grass and trees.
