Strawberry Picking

After a handful of years living in Houston, I finally found the time to go strawberry picking and took along a friend of mine, MIchelle, who's new in the ward. The funny thing is, even though I've lived here almost 5 years that by no means should imply that I know my way around this city-I know my way around NW Houston-that's all :) So, getting there I felt like the blind leading the blind! But, we made it and had a blast! It's called Froberg's and is down in Alvin, TX.

They had a fun little play area for the kids.

Ride that armadillo!

Noah was an excellent sport but was definitely worn out! It wasn't too hot and it was also right by a train track and I think watching a train come by may have been Justin's favorite part! It was a blast!
I made strawberry freezer jam for the first time in my life with the strawberries and it was so ridiculously good I never want to buy real jam again. My friend who suggested this farm picks enough to make jam to freeze for the whole year and I think I'm going to have to do that next year!

Oh, that looks so fun. And the jam sounds yummy, yummy! Thanks for posting so we can enjoy it!
