Today Logan is scheduled for surgery. It should be simple and quick but still is "surgery." The results should be in by Monday. We just wanted the Ritter crew to know that we love them and are praying that everything goes well today.
I have to say that hospitals are one of my least favorite places in the world. Melissa and I have gone quite a few times over the past two years, but I am happy to say that I kept my 2005 New Years resolution to not go to the ER (for me). In 2004, Melissa took me, and then last year we switched off and I took her. I hope that this year we don't have to go at all. Hospitals are boring. You are too worried about your loved one to do school work or anything like that, yet you spend about 98% of your time just waiting. Once we were blessed with an ER room that had a TV in it. Wow, that really helped the time to go by quicker. Another time Melissa got morphine, and I know that helped her to have a much more enjoyable time, but unfortunately they don't give morphine to over anxious spouses. If they did, maybe I would like hospitals a lot more.

We'll keep the Ritters in our prayers! As for morphine for spouses, Kyle's hoping they give him an epidural too.
When Kyle finishes school and is dishing out the drugs from a pharmacy, then he will have the keys to that controlled Rx lock box...that may be a source of second income...
LOL Too funny! Thanks for remembering us today guys! We are so grateful that things not only went smoothly, but Logan was a super strong trooper! And it is true about hospitals and waiting. Jim took his algebra homework with him because he was going to have to wait longer than me (they only let one parent back right after surgery until they get moved to a recovery room), but it isn't like any of it got done! You are 1/6 of the way through the year! So far, so good on your resolution!
Julie,
We are so glad that things went smoothly for Logan. Maybe Jim can finish some of his Algebra homework now that the surgery is over. Each time we got back from the hospital the only thing I could ever do is sleep. Hospitals drain me so much emotionally that I just have to sleep when the ordeal is over. Good luck with the recovery.
